How to Connect to Your Stripe Account
This guide walks you through connecting your Stripe account to Findexar for billing and payment processing.
Prerequisites
- A Findexar organization (see Setup Your Org)
- A Stripe account (create one at stripe.com (opens in a new tab) if you don't have one)
Step 1: Access Billing Settings
- Log in to your Findexar organization
- Navigate to Organization Settings
- Click on Billing or Stripe Settings
- You should see the Connect Stripe option
Step 2: Connect Your Stripe Account
- Click Connect Stripe or Set Up Stripe
- You'll be redirected to Stripe's authorization page
- Log in to Stripe (or create an account if you don't have one)
- Authorize Findexar to access your Stripe account
- Review the permissions being requested
- Click Authorize to complete the connection
Step 3: Complete Stripe Onboarding
If this is your first time using Stripe, you'll need to complete onboarding:
- Business Information - Provide your business name, type, and address
- Bank Account - Add your bank account for receiving payments
- Identity Verification - Complete identity verification if required
- Tax Information - Provide tax information if applicable
Note: Stripe onboarding requirements vary by country and business type. Follow Stripe's instructions to complete the process.
Step 4: Verify Connection
After connecting, verify that the connection is active:
- Return to Findexar
- Check that Stripe Status shows as Connected
- Verify that your Stripe Account ID is displayed
- Test the connection by creating a test subscription plan
Step 5: Create Subscription Plans
Now that Stripe is connected, you can create subscription plans:
- Navigate to Subscription Plans in your organization
- Click Create Plan
- Configure your plan:
- Plan Name - e.g., "Free Plan", "Pro Plan"
- Billing Period - Monthly or Annual
- Price - Set the price (can be $0 for free plans)
- Credit Allocation - Credits users receive with this plan
- Usage Limits - Optional usage limits
- Save the plan
Plan Types
- Free Plans - For users who want to try your service (often $0 with limited credits)
- Paid Plans - For users who want full access (monthly or annual billing)
- Internal Team Plans - For your internal team members (see Manage Internal Team)
Troubleshooting
Connection Issues
- Stripe account not found - Make sure you're logged into the correct Stripe account
- Authorization failed - Try disconnecting and reconnecting
- Onboarding incomplete - Complete all required Stripe onboarding steps
Billing Issues
- Payments not processing - Check your Stripe dashboard for errors
- Bank account issues - Verify your bank account in Stripe settings
- Tax information - Ensure tax information is up to date in Stripe
